Here on The Vino Van Events Ltd we’re always keen to collaborate with exciting Prosecco makers, so we’re delighted to announce that we’ll soon be stocking cult brand Thomson & Scott’s Skinny Prosecco.
Skinny Champagne and Prosecco was created by ex-BBC broadcaster Amanda Thomson after she realised that we take so much time and care to learn about the food that we eat, yet we’re so much more complacent regarding the wine we drink. Brought up on a sugar-free and vegetarian diet, healthy eating is at the heart of her lifestyle. While this is easy to achieve with food choices, it’s not so easy with alcohol and wine.
Label transparency is a subject close to Amanda’s heart, and if you’ve looked at a wine label you’ll understand why – there’s very little information given about what’s in the bottle. Regular wine production also relies heavily on large quantities of sugar, a no-no for Amanda. With this in mind she set about creating sparkling wines that are incredibly light on sugar, with just between 0.1g-7g sugar per litre, that are also vegan, free from pesticides and herbicides where possible and all with clear, concise labeling. Amanda’s message is simple, “cut sugar, drink better, one fabulous glass at a time.”
Skinny Prosecco is made from 100% organic Glera grapes grown in North East Italy on the foothills of the picturesque Dolomites. We can vouch that it’s a very special drink; crisp and delicious, which is no surprise as Amanda has a Diploma in Wine and Wine Management from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.
We’re happy to say that we’re in good company stocking Skinny Prosecco; the wine sold out a week after launch at Selfridges last year and continues to be one of the store’s best-selling wines.
Come and try it, we know you’ll love it!
